Paths
Imagine walking down a path, knowing it will lead to a pot of gold. Suddenly, a little puppy appears with a wad of cash in its jaw along an alternate route along your path. You know the reward is far greater than what the puppy is holding, but you want to explore that satisfactory path. Once you entertain the puppy on that path, you become aware that the enjoyment of that wad of cash was short-lived, and you now have to follow up on the beginning of the path leading to the pot of gold.
What a frustrating feeling! We have all been there.
One of our most disappointing notions is knowing that we have relapsed in a set goal. We set our sights high and may reach high levels of success. When the idea and the words relating to relapse appear, we become very self-destructive.
Giving ourselves grace for those moments when relapse occurs is a goal to focus on. Here are a few positive affirmations to focus to return to a positive path.
Progress over perfection.
Every day, in every way, you are getting better.
You will be a better you.
You are worthy of great things.
